33 things about Jeff

1. Jeff is an Air Force brat. He was born in Florida, but also lived in San Antonio and Germany before his family came home to Utah.

2. While in Germany, his parents took the kids to see as much of Europe as possible.

3. Europe is where he also gained his insatiable taste for rum. (Yes, it is possible to get tipsy from the rum-soaked cake in .... France? I can't remember where that took place.)

4. Jeff hates to wake up in the morning. No matter what time it is or how long he has slept, morning is not his friend.

5. He almost always takes his pants off with one pant-leg inside-out and the other one right-side-out.

6. He has a gut of steel. Not abs of steel (working on that one), but a gut of steel. He can eat anything and it doesn't bother him a bit. He doesn't like everything, of course, but nothing makes him sick.

7. He'd rather play with his kids than hang out with his friends.

8. He loves fantasy football and World of Warcraft.

9. His nickname as a baby was "Jumping Jeffrey," because he used to sit in his high chair and make it bounce across the room.

10. Later, he somehow got the nickname "Gecko." I'm not sure how. His sisters still call him that sometimes, and he hates it.

11. He loves to play.

12. He tells me I don't play enough. He's right.

13. Soon after we started attending church in this ward, a speaker in Sacrament meeting mentioned that he hadn't received a calling for a long time, and that he thought it might be because his head was shaved. Jeff went home that day and shaved his head, and he's been bald by choice ever since. And by the way - it doesn't get you out of callings.

14. Okay, so in all honesty, he started losing his hair at 17 and didn't have any on top when this occurred anyway. But now he has no hair on the sides either.

15. He looks younger (and better) with a shaved head than with a partially bald head.

16. Jeff's degree is in history.

17. He actually started a degree in computer science first, but couldn't stand the computer geek-speak from all the other students, so he switched to history when he had a professor who sparked his interest in it.

18. Ironically, he is now a computer programmer. He is planning to return to school and get a computer science degree though.

19. His minor was Latin American Studies.

20. He hates Chinese food and seafood. He loves just about any other kind of food.

21. He's really good at helping me out when I've had a bad day. Even with the dishes, which are NOT his favorite chore.

22. He likes politics.

23. He used to call himself a "Utah Democrat," but since we've been married, he's become more moderate and now doesn't really align with either party.

24. He served in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro North Mission.

25. He really wants to go back to Rio. We've said we're going to the 2016 Olympics, but that probably won't actually happen.

26. Vacations are important to him. If we were millionaires, we'd probably keep our little house, but travel all over Europe and Central/South America. He'd also love to visit significant American historical sites.

27. He almost never gets cold.

28. He can be really, really, REALLY annoying.

29. He's on his third wedding ring. He lost his first one (expensive) at work, his second one (even more expensive).... somewhere. Now he wears a $99 one we got when Mervyn's went out of business. I think he's had it longer than either of the others.

30. He hates to drive with me in the car. He says I freak him out when I freak out because he's driving too close to the car in front of us.

31. He has a hard time sleeping if I'm not with him.

32. He is color blind. In fact, he didn't know his truck was purple until I told him. He thought "DPL" meant "dark pearl" instead of "dark purple."

33. Today is his birthday! Happy birthday Jeff!!!
